Vanilla Crescent Cookies ||blogmas 17

I'm not sure if you've ever heard of these Cookies, but where I live they're an absolute CLASSIC! Over the Years of Christmas Baking my Mom and me must've tried over a dozen Recipes of Vanilla Crescents (or as we call them here, Vanillekipferl). Then last Year we fiiinally found what seems the perfect Recipe so here it iiis!!

 ~Let's do this!~

You will need:

200g plain flour                                     150g butter
50g icing sugar                                        70g ground almonds
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Icing Sugar for Decor

On to the Baking:

Step 1: Preheat your Oven to 140oC and line your baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2: Sift the Flour into a Bowl, then add the Sugar and mix them both together. Cut the Butter into little Chunks and add it together with the ground almonds to the Flour-Sugar Mix then add the Vanilla extract.

Step 3: Work it all together until it's a smooth, big dough ball. Now you need to form little Crescents out of the Dough and put them on your lined Baking tray. Now bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

After letting them cool for about 20 minutes you can sprinkle some icing sugar on your Crescent Cookies to make them look even prettier.

By the Way, did you know that we celebrate Saint Nicks Day today in Germany? It works like this, you put one of your Shoes out on the 5th of December and at the Morning of the 6th you'll find Clementines, Nuts, Chocolate and maybe even a little Pressie in it! But only if you've been a nice girl, of course!
Merry Christmas!!

xx Aria
