Lets Quiche! ||blogmas 2017

When I think of Christmas I think of food, cosy warm delicious food. This one is such a perfect dinner for one of those rainy, foggy, cold days where you want something warming and cosy to eat and snuggle up on the couch with a Christmas Film.
I've done it now a couple of times over the Winter and even Autumn period, too and every time It's gone within two days or so because its just sooo delicious!

~Lets do this!~

You will need:

-for the Dough-                                                             -for the Filling-
1/2 yeast cube                                                               2 corgettes (about 200g)
300g plain flour                                                            2 thick carrots (about 200g)
1 tsp salt                                                                       70g grated spicy cheese, choose your fave
2 tbsp olive oil                                                             200gs sour cream
125 ml lukewarm water                                                3 eggs
pepper, tarragon and nutmeg for seasoning

To the making:

Step 1: Preheat your Oven to 200oC and butter a medium sized Cake Tin

Step 2: Crumble the Yeast into the Water and whisk with a fork until its pretty much dissolved. Mix the Flour and the Salt in another Bowl, then add the yeast water and olive oil. Work it all together until its well combined, then set aside on a warm place to chill for about an hour.

Step 3: Onto the Filling! wash your Corgettes and Carrots, then with a vegetable peeler peel them into thick stripes. (Tip: Peel the Corgettes from four sides and dont use the inner bit)

Step 4: Whisk the sour cream and eggs together, add the grated cheese and season with pepper, tarragon and nutmeg.

Step 5: Back to the dough. Roll the dough out onto your baking worktop until its a bit bigger than your cake tin, lay it in the cake tin and form the edges. Now sting a couple of times into the bottom of the dough with a fork.

Step 6: Pour the eggy mixture into the cake tin and lay with the carrot and corgette stripes alternately a circle to put in the middle. Then add alternately carrot and corgette striped until you filled out the whole quiche. Almost done!

Step 7: Leave in the Oven for 30 to 40 minutes, but check on it from time to time.

Merry Christmas !!
