Brighton 2019

So I went to Brighton for a whole of 29 days. On the first day I thought, Hey! What a great opportunity to blog about it! Well I kinda forgot that writing and editing and stuff takes up a heck lot of time which I'd rather spend actually doing things there. So that's why now there's only a day one and day two.

But let me tell you what I thought about Brighton. I freaking LOVED it! Its like, a mix between a big city and a small cosy village. My Airbnb was like, ten minutes away from the beach and I found the cutest little café in Kemptown where I went just about every other day. Their carrot cake was sooo good!
Brighton has soo many Festivals on you won't believe it, at least if you're from a tiny german village like I am. Gotta say, I've never been to a festival before my time in Brighton and now I even been to two! The first one was Brighton Fringe where I saw lots of Street Artists, Acrobats, Comedians and even a Magician do their thing. Do I even have to say more? It was so cool. Then the other one was the Brighton Vegan Summer Festival, over one Weekend where there were lots of amazing vegan food, pep talks and stands with lots of vegan stuff everywhere. I ate my first ever Vegan Hotdog there and bought some fermented Tea Leafes to put in a Salad. And I even made some friends, yay me!

One of my favourite things there was probably the Beach though. Being able to go there every single morning and just watch the waves crush in and out is one of my favourite things to do. One Day I actually just spend the whole day reading at the beach and as I had my jeans rolled up, my ankles got burned. Yes, I still look a bit like a zebra.

Let's talk about one of the more touristy things. The Lanes. I really loved them, they reminded me a lot of Italy with their tiny alleys and the little shops squished in everywhere. I tried my first Cronut in Dum Dum Doughnuts (It was amazing!) and was slightly sad that choccywoccydoodah had shut down as I heard so many good things about it. But, buttttt then there are the North Lanes. Yes the Lanes are cute and dainty and everything but I think I actually went to the North Lanes more often tbh. There are soo many cool independent shops, vintage shops, restaurants, cafés and more. A couple of my fave places where Birds and Blend Tea Company, for all my fellow Tea Lovers out there this is the place to go, Roly´s Fudge, the cuutest little Fudge shop where all the Fudge is handmade in store, which I think is soo cool, LucyandYak, an independent organic clothing company that sells the cutest things and where I probs got my new fave pair of dungarees from and one of my fave Restaurants, Bill´s. Try their Pecan Pie as Pudding, its divine.

But also the people. I love the overall vibe of England, being there made me feel just so at ease, I felt like I've arrived Home. Its weird cause Germany is my Home, where I grew up and spend all my Life but England just feels like I belong there, is that weird?

Another thing that I wanted to talk about was the flying. Now, I'm not scared of heights, nor am I really that scared of flying but I have real issues when it comes to my ear pressure on flights. Every time I drive up a hill, doesn't even need to be a huge one, I get quite bad pressure in my ears.
But this time it was actually alright. I read online that you can take an ibuprofen before the flight to prevent pain, then the usual chewing gum method and having earphones in throughout the whole flight. I did all of that and it actually helped quite a bit. So if you are struggling with painful ear pressure on flights, try pain relief, chewing gum, ear phones and if the pain still starts, try massaging the spot behind your ears to relief some pressure.

I really hope I'll be able to go back, soon. London, Edinburgh, Dublin, I want to see so many more places. Have you been to Brighton or maybe you're going soon? Let me know down in the comments.

keep searching for adventures
